I'm a seasoned creative developer with almost 20 years of digital experience in the marketing and advertising industry. I've worked with top-tier brands, including: Disney, Adobe, Epson, BMW, Motorola, Mattel, Vizio, 20th Century Fox, Sony, Nestle, Major League Baseball, Paramount Pictures, and many more.

I have a passion for expressive, immersive web animation. As a drummer, I bring a musical sense of rhythm, timing and storytelling to my animations. I believe that with the judicious use of movement and timing, animation can be used as a tool to engage users, effectively deliver a brand’s message, and delight the user in the process.

Over the years I've worn many different hats. I can move fluently between: design, development, project management and client interaction.

My skills include:

  • GSAP (Greensock Animation Platform): I am a "Shockingly Green" Club Greensock member, and I use GSAP for all of my animation. I've been using GSAP for over 10 years, and it is by far my favorite code library.
  • HTML5 canvas animation: can code from scratch using CreateJS, or use Animate CC as a layout tool.
  • HTML5 banner ads: I can do it all, from concept to design to the final build out abd delivery. I prefer to build banners with vanilla HTML/JS/CSS for easier maintainability, but I can use Animate CC and Google Web Designer if required. I have extensive experience building dynamic creative (DCO) for Doubleclick and Sizmek. I'm Doubleclick certified, experienced in the Sizmek platform and all types of Rich Media (auto-play and click-to-play video, expanding units, etc).
  • HTML5 canvas games: using game engines like ImpactJS, as well as coding from scratch using CreateJS.
  • HTML5 VR/3D experiences: using ThreeJS, I've created interactive worlds, viewable on mobile VR devices (Google Cardboard), with fallbacks for desktop.
  • Graphic design: websites, games, banner ads, emailers and more.
  • Project management: interacting with clients, creating scope documents, milestones, schedules and budgets.
  • Writing: I have several years of experience writing music reviews and news editorial pieces.
  • Interaction Design/User Experience: from visual presentation to how the site or app responds to the user's inputs, I want to make the user smile.
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Animate CC, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Fireworks.
  • General front-end web development: Javascript, jQuery, CSS, SCSS, gulp, ActionScript 3.0.

When I'm not tickling my computer keys, I can be found playing drums, on the race track with my car, BBQ-ing with friends and family, and enjoying the great outdoors with my wife and daughter.
